欧盟驻华大使庹尧诲在开幕致辞中对华春莹副外长表示热烈欢迎。他强调了欧盟和中国在过去五十年间所经历的深刻变革。值此1950年5月9日《舒曼宣言》发表75周年之际，欧盟将继续坚定地致力于和平、伙伴关系、普遍人权、国际合作以及以联合国为核心、以国际法为基础的全球秩序。

Yesterday, the Delegation of the European Union to China hosted a reception to mark the 50th anniversary of EU-China relations. The event welcomed over 1,000 guests, including representatives from Chinese authorities, the diplomatic community in Beijing, and various partners. Belgian Ambassador Bruno Angelet was present at the reception.

In his opening remarks, EU Ambassador to China Jorge Toledo warmly welcomed Vice Foreign Minister Hua Chunying. He highlighted the profound transformations both the European Union and China have undergone over the past five decades. On the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, presented on May 9, 1950, European Union continues to be strongly committed to peace, partnership, universal human rights, international cooperation and a global order based on international law with the UN at its core.

招待会也是一个展示欧盟文化多样性的机会，所有欧盟成员国都展示了自己的传统、旅游胜地、食品和饮料以及其他特色。在比利时展台，我们展示了大家最喜欢的丁丁、蓝精灵（这次“营业”的是蓝爸爸）、巧克力，还有关于比利时的互动问答！参与者可以通过掷乒乓球击中地图上的比利时一个省份，回答对问题就可以领取纪念品（打错了也可以通过学习获得~就是一个重在参与！），了解了许多有趣的关于比利时的知识。

招待会上还有一位特殊的比利时人！欧洲理事会前主席查尔斯·米歇尔也出席了招待会。他曾在2014年至2019年期间担任比利时首相，在2019年至 2024年期间担任欧洲理事会主席。

The reception was also an opportunity to showcase the EU’s cultural diversity, with all EU Member States displaying their traditions, tourism destinations, food and drinks, and other unique features. At the Belgian booth, we had everyone's all-time favorite Tintin, Papa smurf, chocolate, AND, an interactive quiz on Belgium! Participants tossed ping pong balls to hit provinces on a Belgian map and answer questions to win souvenirs, all while learning fun facts about Belgium!

There was also one special Belgian at the reception! Charles Michel, former president of the European Council was also present. He previously served as the prime minister of Belgium between 2014 and 2019 and as the president of the European Council from 2019 to 2024.
