国宝开始旅比新生活！三只秦岭金丝猴抵达天堂动物园 3 golden monkeys arrived at Pairi Daiza

根据天堂动物园与中国野生动物保护协会（CWCA）签订的为期十年的租约，这三只金丝猴将在比利时动物园生活，并在合作结束后返回中国。

三只金丝猴被安置在一个模仿其原生栖息地森林景观的围栏中。经过30天的隔离检疫后，它们才能充分探索自己的新家，并迎接来自比利时和全欧洲的所有粉丝。

New neighbours for our most beloved giant pandas Xinghui and Haohao! And this time, they are also from China! Yes! Three golden monkeys from Qinling have landed in Belgium two days ago, and guess what, they are already the biggest stars of Pairi Daiza.

Under a ten-year lease signed between Pairi Daiza and the China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA), the monkeys will live at the Belgian zoo and will be returned to China at the end of the collaboration.

The three monkeys have been placed in an enclosure designed to mimic the forested landscape of their native habitat. After quarantine for 30 days, they can fully explore their new home and welcome all the fans from Belgium and all over Europe.

秦岭金丝猴这类灵长类动物原产于陕西省秦岭山区，比四川的其他金丝猴更为罕见。它们的数量估计不到4000只，生活在偏远的保护区内，外界几乎看不到它们。

秦岭金丝猴的学名Rhinopithecus roxellana源于奥斯曼帝国苏丹的妻子罗克塞拉娜Roxelana，据说她有一个小鼻子和一头金红色的头发。秦岭金丝猴雌性比雄性小，雄性有黑灰色的皮毛，嘴角有明显的肉芽肿。与其他灵长类动物不同，秦岭金丝猴具有高度的社会性，可以在不移动身体或脸部的情况下发出声音。

随着秦岭金丝猴的到来，天堂动物园成为了欧洲唯一一个拥有这一独特物种的公园，这也证明了天堂动物园在提高人们对全球生物多样性的认识和保护全球生物多样性方面所发挥的重要作用。

Originating from the Qinling Mountains in Shaanxi Province, these primates are much rarer than their relatives from Sichuan. Their population, estimated at fewer than 4,000 individuals, lives in a remote and protected area, making them virtually invisible to the outside world.

Known as the “golden monkey“, Rhinopithecus roxellana owes its name to Roxelana, the wife of an Ottoman sultan, who was said to have a snub nose and red-golden hair. The females are smaller than the males, which have a black-grey coat and distinctive granulomas at the corners of their mouths. Unlike other primates, Rhinopithecus roxellana is highly social and can produce vocalisations without moving its body or face.

With the arrival of the Golden Qinling snub-nosed monkeys, Pairi Daiza becomes the only park in Europe to host this unique species — confirming its important role in raising awareness of and contributing to the preservation of global biodiversity.
