The theme of the International Museum Day 2025, marked on May 18th, is "The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities." As a pioneer in museum development, Guangdong is reshaping the way cultural relics connect with the public. During the second Guangdong-wide Museum Interpreters Competition and the national "Museums Association Cup" selection event held in Shaoguan, Yangcheng Evening News reporter met Rafael Nunez, a volunteer guide from Chile at the Guangdong Chinese Medicine Museum. He is devoted to bridging cultural boundaries within the museum setting.

Rafael is currently a PhD student at the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and has been studying traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for nearly a decade. He developed a strong interest in Chinese martial arts at an early age, which eventually led him to study TCM. His academic journey brought him to China, where he became a volunteer guide at the Guangdong Chinese Medicine Museum. Rafael is deeply passionate about this volunteer work and feels proud to share the rich culture of TCM with visitors from around the world.

He said he considers himself not only a cultural ambassador for TCM at the museum, but also a practitioner. Every time he returns home, he uses the knowledge he has gained, such as acupuncture and pressure point massage, to help his family maintain their health. He even hopes to apply his expertise in his hometown after graduation. "I might even establish a traditional Chinese medicine museum there," he said.

在广东博物馆当志愿讲解员的智利帅哥

2025年“5·18国际博物馆日”的主题是“快速变化社会中的博物馆未来”。广东作为博物馆发展探索的前沿地，正在重塑文物与公众的连接方式。适逢第二届广东博物馆讲解员大赛暨全国“博协杯”选拔赛在韶关热烈举行，羊城晚报记者遇到了来自智利的广东中医药博物馆志愿讲解员雷法，他致力于打通博物馆场域里国别之间的文化边界。

雷法是广州中医药大学在读博士，已学习中医相关专业知识近十年。他从小对中国武术十分痴迷，后来决定学习中医，便来到中国求学，并成为广东中医药博物馆的一位志愿讲解员。雷法非常热爱这份志愿者的工作，为自己能向来自世界五湖四海的游客观众讲解中医药文化感到骄傲。

雷法说，自己不仅是博物馆里的中医药文化宣传大使，每次回国还会运用自己所学的中医知识，如针灸、按摩等为家人调理身体。他还表示，学业结束后，会回国在家乡继续运用所学到的中医知识治病救人，“可能还会在家乡也创办一座中医药博物馆”。
