Each year during the lychee ripening period, buyers from across the country flock to Maoming's lychee production areas. These buyers serve as the main channels for Maoming lychees to enter fresh produce, produce and wholesale markets in other provinces.

In Pingshan Town, Gaozhou, lychee buyer Shen Hongming from Fujian was busy coordinating workers to sort, pack, and weigh the fruit while also directing trucks to load up shipments. This is his third year purchasing lychees in Pingshan. In his view, Gaozhou lychees have earned their place in the market through quality as high-quality fruit always commands a good price.

Another buyer, Tian Maoguang, has been sourcing lychees in Pingshan since 2018. He believes that Gaozhou lychees are superior in quality compared to those from other regions. "I'm now purchasing around 15,000 kilograms a day, and the buying prices are stable," he said. In Pingshan Town, nearly 40 lychee collection points line just one kilometer of road, and many buyers say that "good fruit sells itself."

Xia Xiaofeng, a fruit grower from Panshuitang Village in Pingshan Town, Gaozhou, has planted 250 lychee trees, with this year's harvest reaching between 10,000 and 15,000 kilograms. According to Xia, the pricing advantage is achieved through scientific cultivation. Farmers maintain strict quality control, refraining from premature harvesting to produce premium lychees that help keep market prices stable.

茂名荔枝凭借品质走俏市场

有着“中国荔枝之乡”美誉的广东茂名，迎来了荔枝大量上市的繁忙时节。每年荔红时节，茂名各个荔枝生产区都会聚集来自全国各地的荔枝收购商，是茂名荔枝进入外省生鲜市场、农贸市场、批发市场的主要渠道。

在高州平山镇，从福建过来的收购商沈洪明忙得不可开交，一边安排工人分拣、打包、过磅荔枝，一边指挥货车装运。这是他第三年来到平山镇收购荔枝，在他印象中，高州荔枝用品质赢取市场，高品质荔枝卖出好价钱。

收购商田茂光从2018年开始就来到平山镇收购荔枝，认为高州荔枝品质比外地的更好，“现在每天收购3万斤左右，收购价平稳。”在平山镇，短短一公里路内有将近40家收购点，众多收购商均表示“好果不愁卖”。

高州平山镇泮水塘村果农夏小锋种植有250棵荔枝，今年产量达到2万—3万斤。夏小锋说，价格优势是果农通过科学化种植创造出来的，果农把控好品质，不抢摘不早摘，培育出优质荔枝，才能让价格一直平稳。
