On December 11, Secretary General Zhang Jun met with Mr. Thomas Greminger, Executive Director of Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP).

Secretary General Zhang said that the current international situation is turbulent and global governance faces serious challenges. Against this background, it is imperative for all countries to seek peace and development by firmly upholding and practicing multilateralism and rebuilding international trust. Since its establishment, the Boao Forum for Asia has taken economic development as its main task and is dedicated to advancing regional economic integration in Asia. Meanwhile, it has also acknowledged that steady economic development cannot be achieved without a peaceful and stable external environment. The Forum stands ready to work with all stakeholders to enhance solidarity and mutual trust in the international community and contribute to peace, prosperity and sustainable development in Asia and beyond.

Mr. Greminger spoke highly of the important role played by the Forum in forging consensus among various countries and strengthening exchanges and mutual trust, and shared his views on the current international security situation. He said that the Centre has long been carrying out exchanges and cooperation with different countries, including China, to provide high-level training and research for governments and international organizations and help them deal with the complex security challenges. The Geneva Centre for Security Policy is ready to further deepen its cooperation with the Boao Forum for Asia and explore the way to maintain world peace and promote common prosperity.
