The white dolphin mascots "Xiyangyang" and "Lerongrong" feature a multi-material design. Among them, the plush toys have a plush base, while the water splash on their heads is made of transparent PVC, creating a striking contrast to highlight the design.
These licensed products, including plush toys, figurines, and refrigerator magnets, are not only event symbols but also top IPs in major sports events. Liu Pingyun, led the design team for the 15th National Games and Paralympic Games emblems and mascots and was the chief executive of the Beijing Winter Olympics mascot "Bing Dwen Dwen" design team. Liu sees an intrinsic connection between "Bing Dwen Dwen" and the new mascots. "Like 'Bing Dwen Dwen', we aim to showcase the mascots' unique charm by integrating different materials," he said.
The mascots' eyes and water splash parts exemplify exquisite craftsmanship. "We revised the facial details 12 times for natural expressions. Even minor adjustments to eye transparency or mouth curvature affect the overall look," Liu added. The pink design at the extremities of the mascots' limbs and tails, inspired by the Chinese white dolphin's bulging veins during movement, cleverly mirrors athletes' states in motion.
Transforming design sketches into finished products is challenging. Whether depicting the Chinese white dolphin's two states, in white and pink, or using the mascots' water splash to represent Guangzhou's kapok red, Hong Kong's Bauhinia purple, and Macao's lotus green, every detail reflects the designers' and manufacturers' dedication. "We hope that when people get the mascots, they'll not only like their appearance but also sense our care in colors, materials, and expressions, allowing the mascots to truly win hearts," said Liu.

十五运会特许商品今天与大家见面
1月13日,距离第十五届全国运动会(以下简称“十五运会”)开幕式还有300天,十五运会首批官方特许经营店于今天(13日)正式开业,十五运会特许商品同日上市。白海豚吉祥物“喜洋洋”和“乐融融”在设计上采用了多材质表达。其中毛绒玩具以毛绒材质作为基底,头顶的水花部分则运用透明PVC材质,形成鲜明对比,凸显设计特色。
毛绒玩具、精致手办、冰箱贴等特许商品不仅是赛事的象征符号,更是各大体育盛会中的“顶流IP”。十五运会和残特奥会会徽、吉祥物设计团队负责人刘平云曾担任北京冬奥会吉祥物“冰墩墩”设计团队总执行人,在他看来,“冰墩墩”与“喜洋洋”“乐融融”之间有着一种内在的传承。“就像‘冰墩墩’采用双材质一样,我们希望通过不同材质的融合,展现出吉祥物独特的设计魅力。”
在制作过程中,吉祥物的眼睛和头顶的水花部分堪称精细工艺的代表。“光是脸部细节,我们就打了12版,确保表情变化自然。眼睛的透明度、嘴巴的线条弧度,哪怕是最细微的调整,都会影响整体效果。”刘平云补充道。此外,吉祥物手脚及尾巴末端的粉红色设计,灵感来源于中华白海豚运动时皮肤血脉偾张的生理特征,巧妙呼应了运动员的运动状态。
从设计手稿到成品,这一转化过程并非易事。无论是展现中华白海豚的“白、粉”两种状态,还是通过吉祥物头顶的水花部分体现广州的木棉红、香港紫荆花的紫,以及澳门莲花的绿色的色彩关系,每一个细节都倾注了设计者与制作者的心血。“我们希望市民拿到吉祥物后,不仅喜爱它的整体外观,更能从色彩、材质、表情等细节处感受到我们的用心,让吉祥物真正走进大家的心里。”
