Hope and Courage from a Smile

Good afternoon, Mr.Li! The title of my speech today is “Hope and Courage from a Smile”.

Before this, I would like to ask you one question. Have you ever gotten a smile from others with decent intentions? There is no doubt the answer is yes. Maybe the smile from yourself or your family members, but you can get some powerful things from it.

As we all know, the smile always stands the hope like the perishing thing normally has a favourable turn. In numerous films which tell the story about anti-epidemic or the emergency landing of the plane, the people exude an air of smiling. From this, we can see the crisis were relieved. So when we are in an awful condition, we'd better smile more to give us more hope.

And then, the smile brings the courage to face real life when you meet all kinds of setbacks. When we were children, our parents tended to comfort us with a smile if we fell. I believe you must be like getting a candy when you saw their smile, so you can keep on learning how to walk.

And now, when we are not kids, we may meet a setback like getting a terrible grade in an exam, being frustrated in love, falling into a water hole and so on. We could feel better if we got a smile with a warm hug from others. We have the courage to prepare for the next exam. We have the courage to be in a new love. We have the courage to go ahead.

All of us know the smiling can bring us hope and courage, we can smile more frequently for us or give goodwill to others. So why not smile from now on?(299)
