In terms of industrial development, Guangdong is vigorously constructing 20 strategic industrial clusters. In 2025, the province plans to initiate 495 major manufacturing projects, with a total investment of 1.2 trillion yuan. An annual investment of 188.7 billion yuan is planned to drive the commencement and production of several major projects.

In the past year, Guangdong's industrial achievements have been remarkable. The total industrial output for the year is expected to exceed 20 trillion yuan, with the revenue of large-scale industrial enterprises surpassing 19 trillion yuan and value-added growth of 4.2%. The industrial sector has played a major role in driving economic growth. Key industries such as new energy vehicles, industrial robots, integrated circuits, and medical devices have shown strong performance. The production of new energy vehicles increased by 43%, accounting for a quarter of the national total; industrial robot production rose by 31.2%, making up 44% of the national total; integrated circuit production grew by 21%, representing 18% of the national total; and the medical device industry remains the largest in the country.

In 2024, Guangdong's foreign trade performance was impressive, with imports and exports reaching 9.11 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%. The province contributed 38.7% of the national trade growth, accounting for 20.8% of China's total foreign trade. There was significant optimization in trade structure. private enterprises have become a major force, with 123,000 private companies engaged in foreign trade, a 13.2% increase, and their total imports and exports reaching 5.8 trillion yuan, a growth of 15.2%. In terms of market structure, the share of emerging markets has risen, and trade with developed economies has rebounded. Imports and exports with the top five trading partners all showed positive growth. The product structure has also improved, with a higher share of electromechanical product exports and rapid growth in high-tech product exports. Additionally, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province organized over 300 "Canton Trades" overseas exhibitions, involving numerous companies, and imports and exports with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative grew by 9.4%.

过去一年，广东工业成绩斐然。全年工业总产值预计突破 20 万亿元，规模以上工业企业营业收入突破 19 万亿元，增加值增长 4.2%，工业挑起经济增长大梁。新能源汽车、工业机器人、集成电路、医疗器械等产业亮点突出。新能源汽车产量增长43%，占全国1/4 ；工业机器人产量增长31.2%，占全国44%；集成电路产量增长21%，占全国18%；医疗器械产业规模稳居全国第一。

2024年，广东外贸成绩亮眼，进出口 9.11 万亿元，同比增长 9.8%，贡献全国38.7%的贸易增量，占全国外贸20.8%。结构层面优化显著：民营企业成为中坚力量，2024年有进出口实绩的民营企业12.3万家，增加13.2%，进出口5.8 万亿元，增长15.2%。市场结构上，新兴市场占比提升，与发达经济体贸易回暖，前五大贸易伙伴进出口均正增长。产品结构优化，机电产品出口占比提高，高技术产品出口增速迅猛。此外，广东省商务厅举办超300场“粤贸全球”境外展，组织众多企业参展，与共建“一带一路”国家进出口增长9.4%。
