The Hunan Provincial Forestry Department announced on March 11 that a series of activities celebrating the 2025 Hunan Ecological Tourism Season, as well as multiple festivals and cultural tourism activities will be held throughout the year. These events aim to provide tourists with an immersive experience of Hunan's ecological tourism resources while enjoying spring flowers and autumn foliage, and touring scenic spots.

"This year, Hunan will highlight its top ecological tourism destinations across the province for visitors from both within and outside Hunan, under the theme 'Charming Hunan, the Beauty of Nature' and taking into account seasonal characteristics," stated an official from the Hunan Provincial Forestry Department. The forestry authorities have comprehensively reviewed the ecological landscape features of Hunan's two World Natural Heritage Sites, two Global Geoparks, 22 national-level scenic areas, 49 provincial-level scenic areas, 64 national forest parks, and nearly 100 various ecological tourism destinations.

The Hunan Provincial Forestry Department has recommended seven places across the province where visitors can enjoy flowers in spring. The destinations include Hunan Botanical Garden, Dawei Mountain in Liuyang, Yangming Mountain in Yongzhou, Jiuxian Lake in Zhuzhou, Mangshan Mountain in Chenzhou, Daxiong Mountain in Loudi, and Futian'ao Village in Huaihua.

In 2024, Hunan has organized 16 officially-recommended ecological tourism activities, attracting 296 million tourist visits and generating a comprehensive revenue of over 176 billion CNY.
