In Enping's Gaolang Village, plant protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), rice transplanters, and rotary tillers are working in the fields. In Jiangmen's Kunyang Village, mechanical arms are planting rice seedlings into the paddies in the 2,000 plus acres of land. In Foshan's Gaoming District, unmanned rotary tillers, rice transplanters, and transplanting machines are busily at work, alongside agricultural drones hovering above, portraying a vivid scene of spring farming in Guangdong. agriculture in Guangdong is rapidly transitioning from "labor-intensive farming" to "smart farming".

In addition to the widespread adoption of smart farming across the province, Guangdong has also taken the lead in numerous AI-driven agricultural applications. Collaborating closely with China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, Guangdong's agricultural sector is leveraging advanced 5G, IoT, and cloud computing technologies to explore innovative applications of AI in specialized fields such as marine ranching and plant protection and inspection.

For instance, China Unicom Guangdong developed a 5G digital fishing vessel, which is a fishing vessel monitoring platform built on 5G networks. It is used for daily inspections, precise and timely emergency rescues, and smart notifications with traceable evidence. Currently, the platform monitors 44% of the nearly 50,000 fishing vessels across 123 fishing ports in Guangdong.

In many agricultural industrial parks in Guangdong, agricultural drones have revolutionized traditional farming practices. For example, XAG, a world-leading smart agriculture technology company, has developed agricultural unmanned vehicles capable of precise plant protection, efficient seeding, intelligent mowing, agricultural material transportation, and pest and disease control, to name a few. Once the operation path is automatically generated on a mobile app, the unmanned vehicle can operate autonomously, achieving maximum efficiency of approximately 80 acres per hour.

“AI旋风”爆改广东农业

春天来了,又到了一年耕种的季节。不过,今年广东的农田,跟往年有点不太一样。“科技种田”成为今年广东春耕关键词,智能农机成为广东“新农具”。

在恩平市君堂镇太平村委会高蓢村,植保无人机、插秧机、旋耕机在田野间来回穿梭;在江门鹤山址山镇昆阳村,一盘盘禾苗被机械手插进水田内,2000多亩水稻种植基本实现机械化;在佛山市高明区,一辆辆无人驾驶旋耕机、插秧机、移栽机正在忙碌作业,和上空盘旋的农业无人机一起,共同绘出广东的春耕图景……广东农业由“汗水农业”向“智慧农业”加速迈进。

除了全省铺开应用的智慧农业,广东已有诸多以 AI技术为核心的农业应用国内领先。广东农业与三大运营商深度合作,利用先进的5G、物联网和云计算技术,探索粤水安等“AI+海洋牧场”“AI+植保植检”等农业细分领域的创新应用。

如广东联通的“5G数字渔船”,就是基于5G网络打造的渔船监管平台,能够运用于日常巡检、精准及时救援险情、智能通知留痕取证等具体场景。目前,该平台已经监管全省123个渔港近5万艘乡镇渔船中的44%。

在广东很多农业产业园,农业无人机已经改变了传统的作业模式。以极飞农业无人车为例,可以实现精准植保、高效播撒、智能割草、农资运输、防疫消杀等多种功能。在手机软件上自动生成作业路径后,无人车就能全自主作业,最高作业效率约80亩/小时。
