The disciplinary action underscores China's sustained campaign to enforce the eight-point rules — a set of rules introduced in 2012 to curb extravagance and improve Party and government conduct.

据通报，2024年11月21日，贵州燃气集团毕节燃气公司组织开展知识竞赛活动。活动结束后，毕节燃气公司在食堂接待参加活动的相关单位人员，肖剑等10人参与就餐，其中8人饮用白酒，造成严重后果和恶劣影响。

2025年2月，肖剑被撤销党内职务，受到撤职处理，从正科级降为普通员工。

In February 2025, following an investigation by disciplinary authorities, Xiao Jian was dismissed from his Party post and stripped of all managerial positions.
