As China continues to introduce favorable policies that boost cultural and tourism consumption, optimize payment experience, and expand visa-free entry to the country, the tourism market remains highly vibrant. Leveraging the strengths of its global network as a card scheme, China UnionPay seeks to tell China's story well in international markets and actively supports the development of the "Nihao! China" brand for inbound tourism. UnionPay cards are now issued to local residents in 84 countries with customized products such as the SplendorPlus Card, and e-wallets from multiple countries can make QR payments in China through UnionPay. Domestically, UnionPay has joined forces with various industry stakeholders to enhance payment convenience around "dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment". In 41 key cities, the acceptance coverage of international cards at major merchants has reached 99%. Additionally, dedicated promotions have been rolled out with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China Film Administration, and the General Administration of Sport of China, during which coupons for the culture, tourism, and sports sectors are distributed, further driving the prosperous growth of tourism in China.
