At approximately 11:00 p.m. on May 6, duty personnel at the Economic Development Zone Power Supply Station of State Grid Kuitun Electric Power Company promptly received an offline alert via the RPA terminal offline instant communication group. It was about the residential public transformer terminal of Chenshang Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. . The on-duty staff immediately rushed to the fault location and restored power within 45 minutes. Real-time monitoring and rapid, precise response using intelligent monitoring systems have become standard practice in the company’s frontline repair operations.
In recent years, against the backdrop of accelerated smart grid construction, State Grid Kuitun Electric Power Company has actively explored digital transformation pathways. Leveraging RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technology, the company launched an intelligent monitoring system driven by a dual-engine model of "round-the-clock monitoring + precision response." This initiative addresses the efficiency bottlenecks of traditional operations and maintenance, injects technological momentum into the secure and stable operation of the power grid, enhances quality and efficiency, reduces workload for employees, and delivers precision service to users.
According to reports, the intelligent monitoring system developed based on RPA technology now enables 24/7 full-spectrum intelligent monitoring with zero-error data recognition. The current system operates through a closed-loop model of “all-time perception and automated analysis.” It utilizes RPA bots to automatically extract operational data from distribution terminals and substation equipment, covering over 30 key indicators such as voltage, current, and load. The system achieves fully unmanned processes from data acquisition to anomaly detection, with a 100% accuracy rate in identifying offline events (e.g., terminal disconnections), effectively eliminating the “time blind spots” and “judgment errors” of manual inspections. The daily data processing capacity has increased to over 10,000 entries, doubling monitoring efficiency compared to traditional models and providing real-time, accurate data support for equipment condition assessments.
Meanwhile, the system also enables “pole number-based positioning + intelligent push,” ensuring zero-delay fault response. By integrating GIS (Geographic Information System) data with power grid topology, the system establishes a “one pole, one code” precision location framework. When equipment anomalies trigger an alert, the system automatically parses the pole number of the fault point, achieving a positioning error margin of less than or equal to one meter and enabling fault location within seconds. Based on the RPA-automated workflow, alert information is simultaneously pushed to maintenance personnel via mobile terminals with a 100% delivery rate, completely resolving the issue of delayed information transmission.
Moving forward, the company plans to deepen its application of RPA technology by expanding into advanced functions such as load forecasting and hidden risk early warning. It aims to continuously build a “smarter, more reliable, and more efficient” new-generation power system operation and maintenance framework, thus solidifying the digital foundation of the power grid and supporting the high-quality development of the regional economy and society.
