The 2nd Hunan (Huaihua) RCEP Economic & Trade Expo kicked off at the China (Huaihua) International Exhibition Center on May 9, 2025. A total of 28 projects were signed on the site, covering bags and leather goods, traditional Chinese medicine, new-type display, machinery and equipment, new energy and its equipment, cultural tourism, trade and logistics, and other fields, with a total investment of 11.886 billion CNY.
Themed "Share Opportunities to Deliver the Future", the expo contained three major events, namely the opening ceremony and the RCEP economic, trade, and investment promotion conference, the launching ceremony of intangible culture heritage going global through economic and trade partnerships, and the "dual-channel" and RCEP port synergistic development promotion meeting. It invited Thailand as the guest country of honor, Yunnan Province as the theme province, and Yueyang City as the theme city.
There were five exhibition areas in the main venue of the RCEP expo, including the RCEP Country Pavilion, "Dual-channel" Pavilion, "5 + 10" Industry Pavilion, City and Prefecture Pavilion, and Service Trade Pavilion. The expo became a composite business exchange and cooperation platform covering exhibitors and buyers from 15 countries and more than 20 domestic provinces. The exhibition system of "international trade + dual-channel + industry + service trade" attracted more than 500 exhibitors and 200 buyers to attend.
In addition, nine special matchmaking meetings such as the bag and leather goods industry, traditional Chinese medicine industry, food industry, bio-based industry, cultural and tourism industry of Huaihua, the promotion of logistics channels of Huaihua International Land Port, the promotion of Yantian International Rail-Sea Intermodal Transportation, the promotion of Hunan International Trade Group, and the special promotion of Australia were also held during the expo.
