it's unusual to see two of them together like this and even more unusual not to see them rushing around.

the cold weather seems to have slowed them right down.

very fortunate to get an opportunity to see them up close like this beautiful.

just to let any would be predate to know that they're not just going to be easy snacks.

this doesn't deter mayor cats and mongooses from eating them though they'll drag them along the ground.

to try and break up the biting mouth parts before actually eating them.

unfortunately for these they tend to hide beneath rocks and rotting vegetation.

already as the sunlight starts to break through the clouds they starting to move off after their nocturnal hunting sessions.
