Xu Qiang, a dragon boat team member, revealed the daily training routine for the event: "Training in scorching sun or heavy rain is just a normal part of our routine." He added, "The dragon boat-related economy in Guangzhou has great potential and can become the national leader!" Among the spectators was He, a local resident in her sixties, who braved the rain to watch the races with her 2-year-old granddaughter. The little girl, biting her finger, cheered for the teams, melting the hearts of the surrounding people. He remarked that despite the rain, the enthusiasm of the local community was even greater than in previous years.

On May 18th, the Water Sports Carnival will be held at the Luhu Water Sports Center and Swan Bay Square, offering various activities. 5月17日，2025年广州市龙舟锦标赛暨广州水上运动嘉年华在麓湖景区水上活动中心启幕。比赛组别设有公开组22人龙舟、职工公开组22人龙舟，吸引25支龙舟队激情开赛。上万人齐聚于此，以龙舟竞渡的激情，为十五运会和残特奥会营造热烈的氛围。

一条条龙舟如离弦之箭冲出起点，桨手躬身挥臂，船桨与水面碰撞激起层层白浪；鼓手持槌奋力击鼓，铿锵有力的鼓点成为队伍协同作战的指挥号角……龙舟健儿们将龙舟竞渡的速度与力量之美展现得淋漓尽致，加油助威声、呐喊喝彩声响彻湖面。

龙舟队员徐强揭秘赛事训练日常：“烈日、暴雨都是我们训练时的家常便饭！”他表示，“广州龙舟经济大有可为，可以做到全国第一！”年逾花甲的“老广”何阿姨冒雨携2岁的孙女观赛，小萌娃咬着手指为龙舟队加油的模样萌翻众人。何阿姨感慨道，尽管下午下大雨，但沿岸街坊的热情更胜往年。

据悉，18日在广州白云山麓湖景区水上活动中心及天鹅湾广场还举办了水上运动嘉年华活动，不仅设有非遗绝技独竹漂展演、皮划艇竞速秀，还将开放皮划艇、桨板、水上自行车、龙舟4大水上运动项目供市民体验。
