On May 30, the 2025 Asia AI Conference, co-hosted by INSEAD and Jiran Group, successfully concluded. Centered on the theme "Intelligence Ignites the Future, Co-creating a New Paradigm for Human-Machine Symbiosis" the event brought together leading AI scholars, business leaders, academics, investors, and NGO representatives from across the Asia-Pacific to explore AI’s technological and ethical frontiers.
Guo Wei, Chairman of Digital China, was invited to share insights on business management in the AI era and join experts to discuss AI-driven organizational transformation. At the event, Digital China and INSEAD officially released their first joint AI case study: "Shaping the Future: Digital China’s Journey from Digitalization to an AI-Embedded Organization."
Enterprise Management and Organizational Transformation in the AI Era
In his speech, Guo Wei pointed out that the interaction of the Business Model, Technology Architecture, and Management Approach forms a growth flywheel that drives enterprise evolution—at the core of which lies business processes. Therefore, deeply integrating AI into business process reengineering will be key to the commercialization of AI. To achieve reengineering and meet the management goals of the AI era—full-scope awareness, rapid decision-making, and continuous iteration—enterprises must first rebuild their infrastructure. This means aligning business processes with a new data cloud Integrated architecture, ultimately enabling the full value of data assets to be realized.
“In this new wave of AI and Data Cloud Integration, enterprises can transform their inherent strengths into new growth drivers through the formation of data assets,” Guo Wei noted. “This opens up unprecedented opportunities for every business to stand out in an increasingly competitive market.”
During the "World Café" roundtable session, Guo Wei joined Xiong Hui, Associate Vice President of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou); Dr. James Ong, Founder & Managing Director of Artificial Intelligence International Institute (AIII) ; Fu Xiuju, Senior Principal Scientist & Maritime AI Programme Director of Institute of High Performance Computing at A*STAR, to explore the impact of AI on organizational transformation.
Guo Wei remarked: "From an enterprise perspective, every wave of technological change brings enormous opportunities, but also significant challenges. The biggest challenge lies in building the right mindset. There’s a great deal of enthusiasm for AI in the public discourse, but its actual application in enterprise settings is still at an early stage. This gap often leads to fatigue and anxiety. We frequently worry that the pace of enterprise adoption is too slow. But if we look at the development of integrated circuits—from the discovery of semiconductors to today’s achievements—it’s a journey that has taken over a century. The same applies to any transformative technology. We need to uphold a spirit of craftsmanship and maintain patience. We firmly believe that AI and digitalization will drive profound changes, but such transformation won’t happen overnight—it requires a gradual, step-by-step process."
INSEAD x Digital China Releases First AI Case Study
At the conference, Guo Wei, Chairman of Digital China; Professor Sameer Hasija, Dean of the Asia Campus and Dean of Executive Education; and Professor Chen Guoli, INSEAD Professor and Chair of Strategy Department, jointly released the case study: "Shaping the Future: Digital China’s Journey from Digitalization to an AI-Embedded Organization". The case has been included in the INSEAD Business School Case Library and will be incorporated into the INSEAD MBA curriculum as a teaching case for global learners.
This case outlines Digital China’s practical experience in digital transformation and integrates its latest AI advancements within the strategic framework of "AI-driven Data Cloud Integration." Aligned with global digital and AI trends, the case provides a valuable reference for enterprises pursuing similar transformations. Following earlier inclusion in the case libraries of London Business School and Harvard Business School in 2024, this marks yet another endorsement of Digital China by a leading global institution—highlighting China's contribution to global AI thought leadership.
Professor Chen Guoli remarked:"This case not only affirms Digital China's AI transformation methodology, but also aims to enrich global academic research by contributing to the theoretical framework of digital transformation and AI application—bridging Chinese practice with the global academic community."
Looking ahead, Digital China will continue to drive innovation at the forefront of digitalization, advancing AI integration across traditional industries to power widespread transformation and contribute digital momentum to sustainable global growth.(By Fran)
