A great dominance of domestic medical equipment

Leading local hospitals in Shanghai are pushing cooperation with domestic scientific companies to boost the research, development and application of China-made medical products and services.

At the ground-breaking ceremony for Ruijin Hospital's Minhang branch recently, officials said the new hospital will closely work with domestic companies and 90 percent of devices and equipment at the facility will be made in China.

The new branch is located at the Greater Neo Bay, a high-tech zone in Minhang District to drive the city's ambition to become a scientific innovation center with main focus on the biomedicine, artificial intelligence, high-end equipment and new sectors like the digital economy, low carbon and metaverse.

Mainly serving companies and research bodies in the zone and residents of neighboring communities, the new hospital, with 500 beds, will have one out-patient and emergency center, one comprehensive service building and a clinical research building.

"The new hospital will be built into a high-end research body, dedicated to medical equipment development and innovation. Domestic equipment manufacturers will be able to move their laboratories and workshops into our hospital to do R&D along with doctors, who will actively participate in the entire process of domestic equipment development like a high-end radiation facility, surgical robots and an imaging facility," said Ning Guang, president of Ruijin Hospital.

5月18日，上海交通大学医学院附属瑞金医院闵行院区项目正式启动，预计2028年竣工。建成后，闵行院区将肩负起锻造大零号湾“健康中枢”、构建全学科交叉的“中国样板”、建造生物医药的“临床助推器”三大历史使命，补齐闵行南部没有市级三甲医院的短板，提升区域医疗服务能级，让广大群众在家门口就能享受到一流的医疗保障。

据悉，瑞金医院闵行院区位于闵行大零号湾科技创新策源区域MHC11102单元04A-13A地块，北至紫龙路，南至紫凤路，东至龙吴路，西至老蒋家港，总建筑面积127350平方米，包括门急诊中心、医疗综合楼、临床研究楼。闵行院区定位高水平研究型医院，拟设床位500张，将参照三级综合医院标准进行建设，致力于推动产教融合、医工交叉、成果转化、产业互补，打造集医疗、教学、科研、转化于一体的高水平医学创新平台。建成后，闵行院区将作为瑞金医院非独立法人院区纳入上海申康医院发展中心市级医院体系统一管理，与瑞金医院一体化管理运营。

中国工程院院士、上海交通大学医学院附属瑞金医院院长宁光教授在接受闵行融媒记者采访时说，瑞金医院闵行院区在医疗上主要服务附近的百姓，将打造一个“小综合大专科”的医院。到医院建成的时候，国产（医疗器械）产品的使用率要超过90%，让更多的国产医疗器械，尤其是上海生产的医疗器械在瑞金医院能够使用。

瑞金医院闵行院区效果图活动中，“Rui Surgery”计划同时发布，该计划可打破空间距离，通过远程手术，实现“把手术室搬出手术室”。现场5G远程B超使医生操作远在千里之外的机械臂，实时为病患进行超声扫描并给出诊断意见，有效解决超声医生资源不足及超负荷工作问题，实现优质医疗资源的下沉与远程医疗的真正落地。就在4月22日，瑞金医院专家通过放置在医院报告厅内的两台“总控机”，同步连接到福建三明、云南迪庆、江西瑞金、海南博鳌和上海嘉定五地医院，与远程的五台手术机器人无缝对接，先后远程实施了胰腺、肝胆、泌尿、胃肠等6台高难度手术，为千里之外的患者带来福音，也将“Rui Surgery”的理念和公立医院的善爱与仁心，带到祖国各地。
