On June 19th, a picking robot harvests lychees in a thousand-mu orchard at the Lychee Expo Park in Conghua, Guangzhou.

A lychee-picking robot developed by South China Agricultural University stole the spotlight at the event. Equipped with visual sensors, the robot can "see" the location of each lychee. Thanks to its precision control system, its robotic arm is able to plan an exact picking path and snip the fruit with impressive accuracy. Once the onboard fruit basket is full, the robot transfers the harvested lychees into a transport cart without missing a beat. The robot can pick up to 60 lychees per minute with a damage rate of less than 3%.

In the Expo Park, both aerial and ground patrol robots conduct routine inspections along preset routes, capturing high-resolution images of the lychee trees and uploading them to a smart orchard management platform. TrAIned AI models can assess the ripeness of the fruit and issue commands when the sugar content reaches 18°Bx and the skin turns 80% red, signaling the picking robot to begin harvesting.Navigating between rows of trees, unmanned ground vehicles guided by China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) carry the harvested lychees. Each vehicle can carry 200 kilograms per trip and transport up to 3.5 tons per day. The lychees are then delivered to a nearby field workshop, where workers send them through a spray cooling tunnel to lower the fruit's temperature. This process extends the lychees' shelf life to 72 hours at room temperature and up to 28 days under cold-chain storage.

广东荔枝从枝头到餐桌处处有机器人助力

6月19日,岭南果园荔枝智慧化管理技术推介会在从化荔博园举行。

由华南农业大学研发的采摘机器人,成为了当天的“明星”。据介绍,采摘机器人通过视觉传感器,可以“看到”荔枝果实的位置;通过精准的控制技术,其机械臂能实现精准的作业路径规划,从而不差分毫地将荔枝果剪下;同时,还能在自带果篮装满后,将果实准确地放入运输小车中。采摘机器人每分钟可采摘60颗荔枝,且做到了损伤率低于3%。

在荔博园内,自动巡检机器人和地面巡检机器人每天按照规定好的路径进行自动巡检,对荔枝树拍摄高清照片,上传到智慧果园管理平台。训练成型的AI大模型还能判断果实的成熟度,当判定果实糖度达到18°Bx、果色转红80%时,就会发出指令,让采摘机器人采摘。穿梭荔枝树间,负责运输的则是搭载北斗导航的无人运输车。它单次运输200公斤,日运量达3.5吨。其后,无人运输车将会把采摘下来的荔枝运送到田头车间里。车间工人会将果实送入喷淋隧道,帮荔枝降温,使常温保鲜期延长至72小时,冷链保鲜期达28天。
