Postdoctoral / Bioinformatician Position
The Dubcovsky Lab (https://dubcovskylab.ucdavis.edu/home) at the University of California, Davis is seeking a motivated, sharp early-career postdoc or bioinformatician to support the bioinformatics and computational needs of the lab and to contribute new bioinformatics tools to accelerate discovery. These collaborations will offer opportunities for co-authorship and will leave time to lead individual research projects. Our laboratory is focused on elucidating the gene networks that control wheat heading time and spike development and is also working on reducing the immunogenicity of wheat for Celiac Disease. We are passionate about improving wheat nutritional value, quality and productivity and making all our resources publicly available.

• Preferred starting time before Dec 2025 (flexible).
• Funded for one year, but renewable based on performance (funding available for 9 years)
• Annual Salary: Postdoc: U$ 80,000 to 90,000 depending on experience..
• Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational sciences, plant biology, genetics or a related field.
• Experience in bioinformatics, data analysis, R and other programing languages, and managing computing resources.
• Expertise can range from an entry level postdoc with bioinformatic skills to a bioinformatics position for a well-trained individual.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of plant scientists.
• Support bioinformatics and data analysis activities in the lab (e.g. RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics) and develop bioinformatics tools.
• Maintain the lab computational infrastructure and interact with the UCD server farm
• The position will be approximately 60-70% collaborative research and 30-40% individual research.
• Contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals and grant writing.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in the lab as needed.
