“ You power supply workers are truly a godsend! You regularly inspect the lines and equipment, and if there’s ever a power issue with our irrigation, you fix it on the spot,” said Jiang Zhengang, a villager in Huangying Village, Yaodian Town, Dengzhou City, Nanyang, on December 18th. Standing by the ridge of his field and watching the clear water stream into his wheat crops, he expressed gratitude to the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company employees, who came to inspect and address potential electrical hazards at his irrigation well.

With below-average rainfall this winter in Nanyang, irrigating winter wheat has become a top priority for agricultural production. State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has taken proactive steps, establishing winter irrigation power support teams in each county. These teams worked directly with farmers in the fields, troubleshooting power issues and ensuring the wheat got the water it needed to thrive through the winter. Teams visited villages throughout the region, assessing irrigation needs and creating dedicated winter irrigation service records. They’ve also established a “green channel,” prioritizing immediate service with a “power connection first, paperwork later” approach. In this way, they can quickly install temporary power lines to ensure timely and reliable electricity for irrigation.

State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has implemented a village-based service approach, conducting thorough inspections of power lines and equipment serving irrigation infrastructure. They also tested and commissioned irrigation and drainage equipment, checked agricultural metering boxes, and provided guidance and assistance to farmers in repairing their irrigation power equipment. To further support farmers, contact cards listing service hotline numbers and direct lines to managers have been distributed to villages and posted at well sites, allowing farmers to report any power issues directly and immediately during irrigation. Repair crews and vehicles were on standby 24/7 to promptly respond to customer needs, guaranteeing worry-free power for winter wheat irrigation.

To date, State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has dispatched over 400 personnel, distributed more than 23,000 electrical safety brochures, conducted over 180 electrical safety inspections, and resolved over 30 potential power-related issues affecting winter irrigation.
