The Guangzhou Jazz Festival 2025, organized by Xinghai Concert Hall, kicks off in September. As one of southern China's premier Jazz events and a cultural landmark for Guangzhou, the Jazz Festival marks its 11th edition. With the theme "Boundless," this year's edition brings together many Grammy nominees and winners and will amaze the Greater Bay Area with 4 headliner concerts and more than 20 supporting events.

On September 12th, Wu Wei, master of sheng (a mouth-blown, free-reed instrument), leads the "Silk Jazz Trio" in the opening performance, blending European classical and jazz genres. Joined by German pianist Florian Weber, the trio explores new potential for sheng in jazzmusic, kicking off a dialogue between Eastern and Western music. Next, Cuban jazz trumpet legend Arturo Sandoval, winner of over ten Grammys and Emmys, also makes his Guangzhou debut, delivering a "living-fossil-level" performance with a commanding range. Furthermore, five-time Grammy winner and top jazz singer Dianne Reeves also makes her debut on the Guangzhou stage, partnering with eleven-time Grammy nominee and famous pianist John Beasley, among a star-studded cast. The finale features seven-time Grammy winner Jacob Collier on November 23rd, who will teach the audience a multi-part harmony live, with the performance already sold out.

In addition, the Jazz Festival introduces a Jazz Open Day and collaborates with events such as the "Ersha Island Outdoor Concert Season" and "Jazz City Footprints," covering cultural and tourism landmarks and gathering international stars and musicians from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to present over twenty performances. The Jazz Festival this year continues the open and inclusive spirit of Guangzhou, creating a jazz feast where art knows no bounds.

2025广州爵士音乐季9月启幕，22项格莱美得主云集

2025广州爵士音乐季（9月起，星海音乐厅主办）作为中国南部顶级爵士盛事、广州城市文化名片，今年步入第11年，以“无界”为核心，汇聚超50项格莱美提名、22项格莱美得主，4场大咖音乐会+20余场配套活动燃动湾区。

9月12日，笙艺术大师吴巍领衔“丝绸爵士三重奏”率先开演，其跨界欧洲古典、爵士领域，携德国钢琴家Florian Weber等，以爵士精神探索笙的新可能，开启东西方音乐对话。随后，古巴爵士小号巨匠Arturo Sandoval（10余次格莱美奖、艾美奖得主）首访广州，以“横跨音域的统治力”献演“活化石级别”现场；五座格莱美得主、“爵士人声天花板”Dianne Reeves首登广州舞台，搭档11次格莱美提名钢琴家John Beasley等豪华阵容；压轴的七座格莱美奇才Jacob Collier（11月23日），现场教观众多声部合唱，演出已提前售罄。

此外，音乐季焕新推出爵士开放日，并联动“二沙岛户外音乐季”“爵士城迹”等，覆盖文旅地标，集结国际大咖与粤港澳大湾区音乐人，呈现二十多场演出。本届音乐季将延续开放包容的城市精神，打造艺术无界的爵士盛宴。
