On December 24th, the 2024 Convention on Exchange of China Overseas Talents and the 26th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology ("2024 OCS Conference") opened at the Nansha International Convention and Exhibition Centerin Guangzhou, with the theme "Gathering Globally, Creating the Future." The event announced 20,000 job opportunities both online and offline.
Dr. Li Wangzhe, a first-time participant from the University of Oxford, expressed his hope to find opportunities for the industrialization and implementation of his "Biological Green Hydrogen Medical" project through the OCS Conference. He believes that returned overseas talents should frequently return to their home country to understand policies and engage with the industry to bridge the information gap. "Participating in such events is an excellent choice," he said.
Employers are connecting with overseas talents
The recruitment head from Guangdong Ocean University pointed out that for doctoral graduates returning from overseas to stand out in the domestic job market, they need to have a solid grasp of technology and pay attention to domestic needs. "Ultimately, they need to return to solve China's problems, so understanding what the country needs is particularly important," he noted.

Focusing on "attracting talent through investment," Guangzhou Industry Investment Holding Group(GIIG) has introduced over 300 well-known investment institutions through its mother fund to provide financing connections for entrepreneurial projects. Exploring "attracting talent through talent," the 2024 OCS Conference has mobilized overseas talents who have already returned to participate, leveraging resources from enterprises in which GIIG has a stake to attract more projects and talents to return to China for development. With "attracting talent through cooperation," the 2024 OCS has also collaborated with companies such as Alibaba and Grand Tech Park, as well as alumni associations from Tsinghua University and Peking University, to uncover project needs and promote talent attraction through cooperation.

The 2024 OCS Conference, in collaboration with institutions such as Tongdao Liepin and gaoxiaojob.com, has carefully selected more than 140 units including, XPeng Motors, Jinan University,and Guangfa Bank, offering over 4,000 high-paying positions. In addition, the online recruitment section continuously updates job information, covering more fields and serving job seekers who cannot attend the event in person.

2024海交会开幕 发布2万个岗位需求
12月24日，以“聚全球，创未来”为主题的2024中国海外人才交流大会暨第26届中国留学人员广州科技交流会（简称“2024海交会”）在广州南沙国际会展中心开幕，并发布了2万个线上线下岗位需求。
首次参会的牛津大学博士李汪哲表示，他希望借助海交会平台为其“生物绿氢医疗”项目寻找产业化落地机会。他认为，海归人才应多回国了解政策，与产业界接触，以弥补信息差。“多参加这样的活动，是非常好的选择。”
广东海洋大学招聘负责人则指出，留学博士要在国内就业市场脱颖而出，需掌握扎实技术并关注国内需求。“最终是要回国解决中国的问题，了解国内需要什么尤为重要。”
聚焦“以投引才”，广州产投集团通过母基金引入300多家知名投资机构，为创业项目提供融资对接；探索“以才引才”，2024海交会发动已回国海外人才参会，调动广州产投集团参股，控股的企业资源，吸引带动更多项目和人才回国来穗发展；开展“合作引才”，大会还联动阿里巴巴、归谷科技园等企业及清华大学、北京大学校友会，挖掘项目需求，推动合作引才。
2024海交会联合同道猎聘、高校人才网等机构精选小鹏汽车、暨南大学、广发银行等140多家单位，提供4000余个高薪岗位。同时，线上招聘板块持续更新职位信息，覆盖更多领域，服务无法亲临现场的求职者。
