“Back in the day, we had to go all the way to the town’s power supply office to pay our electricity bills. It’s only about three or four miles away. However, it’s quite inconvenient for elderly folks. Now, with a convenient electricity service point in the village, we don’t even have to leave the village to resolve our electricity-related issues,” said Zheng Xiumei, a resident of Zhangshanzhuang Village, Shenqiu County, Zhoukou City, on January 8th. She expressed her satisfaction with Zhang Qingfu, a grid officer who visited her home to assist with electricity services at the village’s Network Collaborative Service Station.

To fully advance rural revitalization, build livable and business-friendly villages, address the gaps in rural power supply services, and promote equalization of power services between urban and rural areas, State Grid Shenqiu County Power Supply Company has partnered with the Zhangshanzhuang Village Committee to sign an agreement for a collaborative “Village-Grid Co-construction” initiative. This effort established convenient electricity service points in villages to provide residents with high-quality, “zero-distance” services. Power grid officers from Baiji Power Supply Center have established regular communication and coordination mechanisms with village power liaisons to offer on-site guidance for electricity applications, inquiries, and emergency repair requests and maintenance. They also organized educational campaigns on efficient electricity use and provided extended services for vulnerable groups, such as guiding customers on off-peak electricity usage during peak periods, conserving energy, and delivering a seamless, one-stop service.

State Grid Dancheng County Power Supply Company has adopted a shared workspace model with village committees to optimize resource allocation and strengthen government-enterprise integration. The convenience service stations implemented a “power liaison + grid officer” collaborative service model, where grid workers - typically the station area managers from township power supply offices - partnered with village-appointed electricity liaisons. These officers spent at least one workday per week stationed at the service points, offering in-person support for electricity-related matters such as consultations, information inquiries, bill payments, and power outage notifications. Using the “State Grid Online” app, station staff also assisted customers with applications for new installations, capacity upgrades, or service modifications. Additionally, service point personnel performed field maintenance activities based on the 24 solar terms schedule to ensure power supply for agricultural irrigation and farming operations during busy farming seasons, addressing urgent needs for villagers. Regular outreach activities such as “Entering Thousands of Homes,” ”Reaching Farmers’ Markets,” and “Visiting Schools” are conducted to promote safe electricity practices, enhancing residents’ awareness of electricity safety.

These attentive and efficient electricity services, delivered swiftly through integrated service stations, brought significant benefits to village residents and injected vitality into local industries. As a result, villagers have seen increased income and opportunities, leading to better lives. Moving forward, the company planed further to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of its convenience services, ensuring that “electricity empowerment” provides reliable power and exceptional service for the people. This will further improve the sense of satisfaction and access to electricity among rural residents. (By Han Dongwei & Yan Mengqi)
