Their posts all carry the same tag "TikTok Refugee".The tag explains the reason why American people come to Xiaohongshu: The U.S. government, under the pretext of so-called "national security", has launched a series of restrictive measures against TikTok, and plans to ban Americans from using TikTok on January 19th.

On January 13th, Xiaohongshu became the number one free app in the U.S. App Store.
