The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently released the 2024 national green manufacturing list. Fifty-eight enterprises, including the Changsha BYD Auto Co., Ltd., were rated as national green factories. Nine industrial parks, including the Loudi Economic and Technological Development Zone, were honored as national green industrial parks, and three companies, including the CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd., were rated as national green supply chain management enterprises. So far, the province has successfully established 271 national green factories, 27 green industrial parks, and 30 green supply chain management enterprises.

China is gradually building an all-round and multi-level green manufacturing system to accelerate the green and low-carbon transition of the industrial field. The green factory is the core basic unit of green manufacturing, and the green industrial park is the platform for the gathering of green factories and green infrastructure. According to statistics, this time Hunan ranked 10th nationwide in the number of newly-rated green factories, and ranked 5th nationwide in the number of newly-honored green industrial parks.

The selected enterprises and industrial parks have actively adopted energy-saving technologies and digital processes, achieving remarkable results in low carbon emissions. For example, the Sany (Shaoshan) Wind Power Equipment Co., Ltd. has established a clean energy system of wind power, photovoltaic power and energy storage in the industrial park, and has built a micro-grid digital twin platform. Thanks to these efforts, 69% of the company’s electricity demand can be met by its photovoltaic and wind power generation systems.

In recent years, Hunan has continued to optimize the cultivation mechanism for model green manufacturers, giving full play to the leading role of green factories, green industrial parks, and green supply chain management enterprises, and promoting the all-round green transformation of industries. From January to November 2024, the province's energy consumption per unit of value-added industrial output decreased by 5.9%.
