The "pain" of gout and the cure for the "pain"
Friends! Today we're going to talk about gout, a painful problem. When gout attacks, it can be "painful." Imagine that your joint is like being beaten by a bunch of little bad guys holding small hammers, which are painful and swollen, as if protesting your "nonsense." The pain is like having a tiger bit your toes and making it hard to move.
The symptoms, however, are usually sudden joint pain, especially in the large toes, ankles, knees and other areas. The joint will become red, swollen, hot, like a small steamed bun. In severe cases, even the weight of the quilt can make you grin.
So why do I get gout? Simply put, there is too much uric acid in the body. Uric acid is like a naughty child, messing around in your body. In normal times, we eat too much fish and meat, and we keep eating beer and seafood, and the uric acid in our body goes up. In addition, lack of exercise, metabolism becomes slow, uric acid cannot be excreted, and over time, it is easy to trigger gout.
But don't worry, we've got a way to deal with it. Western medicine treats gout, usually with some medications to lower uric acid and relieve pain. But we also have a wonderful way to maintain a healthy diet in Chinese medicine!
First, keep your mouth shut when it comes to food. Foods high in purines, such as seafood, animal guts, beer, etc., stop craving them. Eating more fruits and vegetables, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, etc., are good choices. You can also drink some health tea, such as chicory and chard tea, which can help you lower your uric acid.
Second, "take your legs off." Proper exercise can promote the metabolism and speed up the excretion of uric acid. However, don't move when gout attacks, and when the pain is eased, do some gentle exercise, such as walking or yoga.
In addition, traditional Chinese medicine has some special treatments. Moxibustion, for example, can play a role in dredging meridians and harmonizing qi and blood through warm stimulation of acupoints. There are also Chinese herbal remedies to soak your feet. Using some Chinese medicines for bruising and swelling and pain relief, soak your foot in hot water. That feels, let alone how comfortable.
Finally, mindset also matters. Don't be depressed when you have gout, keep an optimistic mindset. Believe in yourself that as long as you adhere to treatment and maintenance, you will definitely be able to beat gout.
In short, gout is scary, but as long as we develop good lifestyle habits and active treatment, we can definitely "subdue" it. Let's get away from gout and embrace healthy living together!
