During the Spring Festival holiday, Hunan's ports of entry saw 190 inbound and outbound passenger flights, an increase of 7.9% from the same period last year. Among these, the number of flights at Changsha airport increased by 14.7%. The main destinations were 13 cities in 11 countries, including London (UK), Nairobi (Kenya), Bangkok (Thailand), Seoul (South Korea), Daegu (South Korea), Busan (South Korea), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Tokyo (Japan), Singapore, Hanoi (Vietnam), Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Jakarta (Indonesia). The top four destinations in terms of the total number of flights were South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. The number of flights to Malaysia and Singapore increased by 50% compared to the same period last year. Additionally, new flights to Tokyo were added this year.
According to a spokesperson for the Hunan General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, during the holiday, border inspection authorities at all levels in Hunan made early preparations, deployed sufficient personnel for duty shifts, and opened as many inspection channels as possible. These measures were aimed at quickly and dynamically reducing peak passenger flows to ensure smooth and orderly customs clearance. In addition, the "special channels" were kept open on a regular basis to provide customs clearance convenience for passengers in need of assistance, including the elderly, children, the sick, the disabled, and pregnant women. In addition, passengers who needed to clear customs quickly for boarding were prioritized for border inspection procedures.
