As the spring breeze sweeps through, thousands of acres of Mucuna birdwoodianas burst into bloom at Tianluhu Forestry Park in Huangpu District, Guangzhou. On March 13th, the "2025 Mucuna birdwoodiana cultural tourism season" officially kicked off at the park. The botanical name of these flowers is Mucuna birdwoodiana Tutch due to their resemblance to Java sparrows.

As Guangzhou's largest primary Mucuna birdwoodiana community, Tianluhu Forestry Park is home to over 1,000 acres of wild vines. Multiple Mucuna birdwoodianas drape over the vines like flocks of java sparrows resting on the branches, attracting approximately 250,000 visitors annually.

"This is my first time seeing such a magnificent Mucuna birdwoodiana community! Hearing that the landscape here has a history of over 300 years, I made a special trip with my camera to capture the moment," said Mr. Chen, a photography enthusiast snapping photos under the Mucuna birdwoodiana-covered vines.

Known as the "green lung of eastern Guangzhou", Tianluhu Forestry Park—a key area for Huangpu's ecological development—boasts rich ecological resources, with forest coverage exceeding 90%. Mucuna birdwoodiana festival has been held for 12 consecutive years, and these flowers have transformed from a seasonal attraction into witnesses of Huangpu's ecological development.
