Officials from Laos and Cambodia gathered in Lao capital Vientiane on Tuesday to review their bilateral cooperation in 2024 and set goals for 2025, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation and enhancing security and peace.

Representatives from the two countries outlined key goals for continued cooperation in security, education, drug prevention and other spheres, the local news website Lao Pattana News reported on Wednesday.

Both sides will enhance information exchange on illegal activities, such as drug trafficking, arms smuggling, human trafficking, and illegal logging along the border.

They will also focus on educating officials, armed forces, and local communities about border laws to ensure peaceful resolutions in line with international regulations.

Additionally, they will continue facilitating exchanges between specialized departments to share lessons learned and collaborate on combating cross-border drug trafficking, online gambling, telecommunications fraud, and other cybercrimes.
