All this is thanks to the vision and unremitting efforts of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is making unprecedented determination and courage to construct a large model for the clinical efficacy evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine, paving a broad road for the modernization and internationalization of traditional medicine.
The value of Chinese medicine lies in its unique theoretical system, rich clinical experience and deep cultural heritage. However, the multi-component and multi-target nature of Chinese medicine makes its value assessment extremely complex. In order to solve this difficult problem, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine has established the China Center for Evidence-Based Chinese Medicine, joined forces with national leading institutions to jointly form a huge network of clinical evaluation studies of traditional Chinese medicine. They issued evaluation specifications, developed technical manuals, and conducted a series of studies around the advantageous diseases of traditional Chinese medicine and the excellent varieties of traditional medicine, which achieved remarkable results. These high-level clinical evidence not only provides strong support for the clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine, but also lay a solid foundation for the modernization of traditional medicine.
However, this is only the beginning. On the basis of the previous work, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine is further playing the role of different innovation entities such as medical institutions, scientific research units, and innovation enterprises, conducting value assessment work from multiple dimensions. They know that in order to truly achieve the scientific verification of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is necessary to build a comprehensive clinical evaluation system of Traditional Chinese Medicine Patent Prescriptions. This system is oriented toward clinical value, considering multiple indicators of effectiveness, safety, and economy to evaluate the results and promote clinical program optimization and product optimization. At the same time, they also coordinate with the adjustment of national primary drug catalogues and medical insurance catalogues to ensure that those Chinese medicines with precise efficacy and outstanding characteristics can benefit patients on a priority basis.
In this process, the use of advanced technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence is particularly important. The National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine is strengthening the standard collection of human experience through these technologies and building a large model for the clinical efficacy evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine. The model will establish a chain of evidence covering the full life cycle, allowing for the transition from the inheritance of experience to scientific validation. This is not only an innovation of the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine, but also a powerful push for the modernization and scientific development of Chinese medicine.
