Building core competitiveness in AI application is a key task for companies. How do you think AI will disrupt current business models and create new opportunities? How should companies plan and respond to this?

AI is driving technological changes and reshaping business models with disruptive force. As a practitioner in fintech, I would like to share some thoughts based on UnionPay's explorations.
First, it is necessary to embrace AI in our mindset. AI technologies represented by large language models are no longer just tools; they are beginning to demonstrate human-like reasoning and creative capabilities, which means they are equipped with substantive power to drive industry changes. In light of this reality, businesses must acknowledge and understand the situation and embrace AI with a positive attitude and concrete actions—this is an essential precondition for thriving in the era of AI.
Second, "integration" should be the approach. The application of AI requires deep integration of the technology and real-life business. UnionPay has been exploring such an integration-focused strategy in its operations, where technical and business teams jointly deep dive into business cases, identify high-value demand for intelligent applications, and reimagine processes and business methods through AI-focused thinking, thereby better leveraging the multiplier effect of the technology.
Third, resources need to be aggregated and synergized. Computing power, data, and models are the three core elements for AI development. With a focus on practical needs, UnionPay is concentrating resources for a computing power pool, collaborating with industry partners to develop high-quality datasets, and building capabilities with a foundational platform and tailored applications for various verticals.
Fourth, enthusiasm for AI needs to be ignited. It is necessary to stimulate employees' passion for AI. They should be motivated to keep learning and adopt best practices from leading companies to avoid working in isolation; meanwhile, innovation should be encouraged, empowering every employee to be a proactive trailblazer for AI applications, which helps to foster a bottom-up culture of innovation centered around “AI and beyond”.
