It is important to note that foreigner work visas in China are categorized into Class A (high-end talents), Class B (professional talents), and Class C (other foreigners). Different documents need to be prepared according to the category.

首先要明确，外国人来华工作签证分为 A 类（高端人才）、B 类（专业人才）和 C 类（其他外国人），根据不同类别准备相应材料。

1. Application for the Foreigner Work Permit Notification

1.申请《外国人工作许可通知》

The employer should apply to the State Administration of Foreign Experts for the permit before the foreigner is hired to work in China.

用人单位在拟聘用外国人来华就业入境前，向国家外国专家局申请办理。

Register online on the “Foreigner Work Management Service System.”

登录 “外国人来华工作管理服务系统” 在线注册。

Submit personal resume, academic credentials, work experience certificate, criminal record clearance, health certificate, copy of the passport's front page, labor contract or invitation letter, and fill in the Foreigner Work Permit Application Form.

提交个人简历、学历证明、工作经验证明、无犯罪记录证明、健康证明、护照首页复印件、劳动合同或邀请函等材料，并填写《外国人工作许可申请表》。

The system will conduct a preliminary review within 5 working days. If passed, the Foreigner Work Permit Notification will be generated and can be printed online.

系统 5 个工作日内预审，通过后生成《外国人工作许可通知》，可在线打印。

2. Application for Z Visa

Prepare the following documents: valid passport, Foreigner Work Permit Notification, recent color passport photo with a white background. Some consulates may also require a health certificate and criminal record clearance.

准备材料：有效护照、《外国人工作许可通知》、近期彩色白底护照照片，部分使领馆可能还需健康证明和无犯罪记录证明。

Submit the application to the Chinese embassy or consulate in your home country or to the visa application service center, and pay the visa fee.

前往中国驻所在国的使领馆或签证申请服务中心提交申请，并缴纳签证费用。

The consulate will review the documents. If the documents are complete and meet the requirements, the application is usually approved within a few working days. After approval, collect the passport with the visa attached.

使领馆审核材料，材料齐全符合要求，通常几个工作日内审批完成，获批后领取贴有签证的护照。

3. Entry into China and Application for Residence Permit

Enter China with the valid Z visa. Some cities may require a health check upon entry. Consult the local immigration authorities in advance.

持 Z 签证在有效期内入境中国，部分城市可能要求入境后进行健康检查，提前咨询当地出入境管理部门。

Log in to the “Foreigner Work Management Service System,” fill in and submit the Foreigner Work Permit Application Form. Submit the paper documents, including the original valid passport, original Z visa, original Foreigner Work Permit Notification, recent color passport photo with a white background, health certificate (if applicable), original labor contract, etc., to the local foreigner work management department to apply for the Foreigner Work Permit.

登录 “外国人来华工作管理服务系统”，填写并提交《外国人来华工作许可证申请表》，提交纸质材料，包括有效护照原件、Z 签证原件、《外国人工作许可通知》原件、近期彩色白底护照照片、健康证明（如有）、劳动合同原件等，前往当地外国人工作管理部门提交申请，领取《外国人工作许可证》。

Prepare the residence permit application documents, including the valid passport, Foreigner Work Permit, original Z visa, recent color passport photo with a white background, and a completed residence permit application form. Submit the residence permit application to the local public security bureau's immigration department, pay the fee, and collect the work-related residence permit at the specified time after approval.

准备居留许可申请材料，包括有效护照、《外国人工作许可证》、Z 签证原件、近期彩色白底护照照片、填写完整的居留许可申请表等，前往当地公安机关出入境管理机构提交居留许可申请，缴纳费用，审核通过后在指定时间领取工作类居留许可。

All documents must be complete, genuine, and valid. Foreign language documents need to be legalized by the consulate and translated by a Chinese translation company, with the translation company's business license attached.

所有材料要完整、真实有效，外文材料需做领事馆认证并找中国翻译公司翻译，附上翻译公司营业执照。

If you receive a notice for additional documents or explanation during the review process, respond promptly.

审核过程中若接到补充材料或解释说明通知，及时响应。
