This year's forum will continue to adopt the format of "special activities+ main events."

Eleven special activities are scheduled, including a pre-departure training session for students studying abroad, a job fair for returning overseas talents, an innovation and entrepreneurship tour of Hunan for returnees, the Overseas Returnees Forum Project Competition, overseas promotional events, a "Voices of Returnees" talkfest, the Second Cultural and Art Exchange Event for the New Generation of Descendants of Overseas Chinese, a visit to Hunan by representatives of international student associations from prestigious universities abroad, a youth returnee entrepreneurship and cooperation forum, a consensus-building gathering of overseas Chinese young people, and a youth returnee carnival, among other events.

The main events of the forum included the opening ceremony of the Overseas Returnees Forum and a conversation with overseas returnees, a career matchmaking meeting for overseas returnees, the finals of the Overseas Returnees Forum Project Competition, and a symposium for representatives of overseas Chinese associations. During the period, returning PhDs will be organized to visit universities and key laboratories, and also to tour the Overseas Returnee Town and related parks and enterprises, allowing more returning overseas talents to get to know Hunan, understand Hunan, love Hunan, and stay in Hunan.

Since its inception in 2014, the forum has always adhered to the principle of "serving returning overseas professionals in innovation and entrepreneurship in Hunan and assisting Hunan in recruiting talents." After 11 years of development, the forum has become a "golden calling card" for Hunan's opening-up and a "strong magnet" for exchanges and cooperation among returnees across the globe. To date, the forum has seen the participation of more than 1,000 returning overseas talents from over 30 countries and regions, facilitating the signing and implementation of 70 projects and introducing more than 100 high-level professionals.
