hi everyone，aaron here for zolo tech and today，samsung released the one ui eight beta with android sixteen one ui eight and android sixteen is available to those who sign up for the beta program on the s twenty five s twenty five plus and the s twenty five ultra currently it's available in the united states u k germany and korea。

if you wanted to install the update yourself and you have one of those devices and one of those locations that you can go into your samsung folder go to members and within members you'll be able to see it here once it loads so we'll give it just a second here and scroll across at the top and you'll see beta program but you'll see this here as you scroll across where you can sign up for the beta program right here the one ui beta go into it then you can agree to it and as long as you agree you can then enroll your device you can leave it any time as well and it's available now under the beta program home。

so if you want to remove yourself from it you can do that you'll see that i've joined and let's talk about what's new the first thing is once it's installed you'll see that you have android 16 if we go into our settings menu and see about the device you'll see the current version says 1ui version 8 and android 16。

now this is a beta it's the first beta so some things will change some things will be a bit buggy but there are some nice updates in here the first one you may have already noticed compared to one ui 7 on the left here so i have the s 25 edge and the s 25 ultra you'll see the weather app looks completely different as far as the widget and if we go into it it has enhanced visuals it has some translucency it has a more realistic person in the background and as we scroll down you'll see it just looks a little bit different so it has some translucency there most of the same things that you can view with maps and more but you'll see the overall view or overall look is completely different here so that's something you may or may not like it has a swipe side to side if you have different areas you can check that out and

·see what it looks like if we go into our quick settings we have a new option for quick share.

·it's been added to the menu and we can quickly share directly from here.

·now select a file photo or whatever you'd like and share it to a nearby device.

·also in our edge panel we have an update here with ai select go into ai select and it's now immediately available.

·no more waiting and it's just a lot faster this time around.

·so if you want to go into generative edit you could do that and edit whatever you have here.

·so you now have that option just to be a little bit faster this time.

·if we go into the camera they've updated this as well.

·if i swipe up you'll see that we get the quick settings here instead of just flipping the camera around.

·this is now a setting within our settings and if we swipe down you'll see that we have swipe up or down to open quick controls or switch cameras.

·now have the option to switch between either one.

·if we go into internet samsung's own app here.

·they've redesigned this a little bit with the menu at the bottom.

·if we go into it we can now customize it.

·we have history downloads saved add to in settings.

·if we press and hold we can then customize the toolbar below.

·so whatever we'd like we can customize that customize the menu itself.

·and change it to whatever we care about most whether that summarize translate or close internet or something else.

·if we go into the app drawer go under clock within clock.

·maybe we have a couple alarm set.

·if we go to our three dot menu and then go to alarm groups we can now create an alarm group within the alarm group will just name at group one.

·we'll go back here.

·and you'll see the group here.

·and then we can add specific alarms that are already existing or add a new alarm.

·we'll add these two existing alarms.

·and now we have an alarm group.

·we can add that alarm group directly to the home screen as a widget.

·so if we press and hold here.

·we'll go to widgets.

·then we'll go to clock within clock we'll just add a simple alarm here.

·and then we'll select the alarm.

·so if we go into it.

·we can select the group itself.

·and now we can silence the entire group directly from the widget itself.

·so it's a small update.

·but something that could be helpful.

·now if we go into multitasking here.

·so maybe we'll go in here.

·we'll go into split view here.

·or split screen.

·we now have the option of course to select something else.

·and when we have two things selected.

·we can now swipe this right up to the edge.

·so that we can focus what's below.

·so it gives you a little bit more control.

·categories are now at the top of the screen.

·and you can slide up to sort of hide them.

·and get rid of everything thing and shrink it down.

·so if you want to sort of minimize that.

·you'll see you can do that.

·or you can't do it on the old version.

·so it looks completely different.

·something else they've updated is when you type in the new reminder box.

·you now have the option to have suggestions.

·so maybe if we type birthday.

·sometimes it suggests things.

·sometimes it doesn't but it could suggest a birthday in august.

·and you'll see with some different suggestions there.

·it will also recommend people based on contacts and calendar and more.

·of course you can also create a reminder now with your voice.

·so it just makes it a little bit easier.

·the same is true in the calendar app.

·so if we go into calendar within calendar.

·if we go to add something.

·that we can now create a reminder directly within the calendar app.

·so that's pretty nice.

·and then also also we can silence directly the widgetmaybe call with samsung，we'll go ahead and hit save and we can move this around now。

if we want to move the reminder，so maybe we want to move it to the 21st we can just drag and drop it to something else，so it's a nice little update and you can create an event again with suggestions also when you go to add a reminder，maybe such as a birthday，it will give suggestions as well just like the reminder app well。

contacts also gets an update making it easier to change the profile card，so if you want to change the profile card and share it you can the overall interface looks a little bit different，where we now have a plus option here，where we can sort of change the text or anything else move it around。

however we'd like maybe change the color and we can just customize it more easily and they've made it so you can preview it as well，so you can see what others see，so your image will be cropped if it's maybe on a foldable or on another phone，gives you an idea of what it looks like，so you could change the image based on a video，whatever you'd like here and create an image just like that or just leave it alone altogether。

also if you record a call it will now show in your contacts history page，so recents or contacts as well，you'll see it there along with anything that you've recorded and who it's from if we go into the health app，they're updating this with a couple features i'm not seeing yet maybe they have yet to add it。

but if we go to together then go to create a challenge，we'll have the option to create a new challenge to see who can run the furthest the fastest，so you could set it to run a distance the fastest you'll see get there first set a target number of steps，and we only have go to the farthest so far i'm not seeing that challenge and there's also an update for inputting food，so once you input your food，you can have it remind you to do that as well again i'm not seeing this update，maybe it will be in bena too。

we also have some new updates to modes and routines，if we go into modes and routines you'll see we have quite a few bug。

·new ones so let me go into it over here and you'll see if we scroll down we've got some updates here if we keep going to the bottom there's some updates for weather.

·but we can keep going to advanced routines we have a whole section here now with weather and advanced routines with a bunch of additional options such as battery check before bed bluetooth device connection switcher morning briefing cold weather alert in umbrella reminder so quite a few new ones that they've added as well.

·we also get some accessibility updates if you're using the assistant menu if i turn that on you have a new option to pinch zoom so that's something they've added so you can pinch and zoom in the assistant menu we can also magnify the keyboard so we have those options so you'll see here if we close this within the magnification settings we have the option to magnify keyboard while typing so that's something that's new.

·and we also have some updates of for bluetooth so if you're using bluetooth you can now pair hearing aids to this.

·also you can control mouse actions with the keyboard for actions such as pointer click hold and scroll if you're using that and dex gets some updates as well to support w qhd resolutions and rotations of the display up to ninety a hundred eighty or two hundred and seventy degrees.

·there's also two additional updates to talk about one is or a cast broadcast you can broadcast from one device to multiple devices using a qr code now.

·and also if you visit a samsung service center you can more easily use nfc or a qr code to share encrypted information.

·this will allow whoever you're working with to know the information about the phone and your personal information and number.

·but it will be encrypted and they won't have access to it outside of that.

·so those are the updates so far in one ui 8.

·now you may have noticed already that my battery is decreasing pretty rapidly here.

·and if we go into battery i'm not seeing all of the updates that we've seen visually with maybe material design three expressive on the pixel.

·but if we go into battery you'll see the overall battery life and everything else is what you would expect.

·and if i find additional features and changes of course i'll go into that in separate videos.

so far the overall performance seems to be nice and smooth.

it feels about the same as what we have on the other device here with the same processor or similar processors.

everything is nice and smooth from 120 hertz display to the overall smoothness of going into apps.

it seems pretty stable.

so far as early beta and of course.

it's going to take a few iterations of betas to see the final version.

but that's what's new in it.

so far as far as if you should install one ui eight beta 1.

i would probably recommend against it on your main device if you want to try it out.

and you have an s 25 ultra you could try that and roll back and unin roll from the beta program.

but so far it seems pretty nice.

hopefully we'll get some additional enhancements maybe some smoothness maybe those wallpaper ai features.

i'm not seeing those yet that go along with android 16.

so i looked for those i don't see the effects and customizations that we have on android 16.

such as weather on the home screen and things like that.

so hopefully we'll get that soon.
