01|The renovation of the Fifth Avenue will be initiated

Recently, New York Mayor Eric Adams announced that he would invest an additional $250 million in the fiscal year 2026 budget, along with the previously allocated $153 million, for the large-scale renovation of the Fifth Avenue. This move will make the total budget of the Fifth Avenue renovation project exceed 400 million US dollars.

The project will recover its cost within five years of completion by increasing revenue from property tax and sales tax. The renovation includes widening the sidewalks, reducing the number of lanes from the current five to three, increasing trees, greenery and benches, and improving lighting and infrastructure to mitigate the impact of storms. 01|美国提前囤货推动瑞士手表出口额增长

01|The early stockpiling by the US driven the growth of Swiss watch exports

The latest data released by Federation of the Swiss Watch industry FH shows that the export value of the Swiss watch industry increased by 18.2% y-o-y to 2.549 billion Swiss francs in April, achieving a record growth, mainly benefiting from the outstanding growth of the US market - a y-o-y increase of 149.2%.

The significant increase is mainly attributed to the early stockpiling behavior caused by the additional tariffs imposed by the US. It is more of a one-off response to the uncertain business environment rather than a sign of demand recovery. Excluding the impact of the US market, Swiss watch exports declined by approximately 6.4% y-o-y in April, mainly due to the continuous decline in the mainland of China and Hong Kong markets.

国际品牌评估机构Brand Finance公布2025年全球最有价值奢侈品与高端品牌榜单显示,Chanel品牌价值飙升45%至379亿美元,首度超越Louis Vuitton,跃居榜单第二,单前五分别为:Porsche保时捷、Chanel、Louis Vuitton、Hermes与Rolex。

Brand Finance, an international brand assessment agency, released the list of the world's most valuable luxury&premium brands in 2025. It shows that the brand value of Chanel soared by 45% to $37.9 billion, surpassing Louis Vuitton for the first time and ranking second on the list. The top five are respectively: Porsche, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Rolex.
