In Hongguang Village of Chengcun Town, Yangxi County, Yangjiang City, vast mangrove forests sway along the coast of the South China Sea, forming a green ecological barrier and carrying the village's dreams of revitalization. Once an obscure coastal settlement, the village has now risen to prominence through its unique mangrove resources and innovative integration of culture and tourism, becoming a shining example in the "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Project."

Walking into Hongguang Village, visitors will find cleanand wide asphalt roads replacing the once bumpy dirt paths, shaded by rows of trees. At the newly renovated Hongguang Wharf, the sea breeze mixes with the faint aroma of oysters. Today, the village boasts an increasingly diverse range of seafood products. Sun-dried golden oysters, oyster sauce, and dried oysters have all gained wide popularity.

Chengcun oysters are large, plump, and tender

At dawn, Hongguang Village awakens in the morning mist. The aerial roots of mangroves stretch like harp strings into the tide. Fiddler crabs sketch patterns on the mudflats, while egrets dance gracefully across the water, their reflections like poetry. The hum of fishing boat engines breaks the silence, with bamboo baskets of oysters at the bow glistening like pearls.

Behind the thriving mangroves lies the bounty of plump, succulent oysters; the laughter of tourists reflects the joy of fishermen's harvests. According to reports, Chengcun's oyster industry is flourishing, attracting more than 180,000 visitors during the 2025 Chinese New Year alone.

The vast mangrove forest resembles a piece of emerald set in Chengcun Bay

As the sun sets and the tide gently caresses the mangroves, fishing boats laden with oysters return to the harbor. Strings of oysters drip with crystal-clear water by the side of the boat. At the wharf, the aroma of steaming oysters mingles with the breeze from the mangroves, as oyster farmers deftly shuck the shells to reveal their creamy flesh, drawing endless admiration from visitors.
