On September 12th, South China's first architectural model museum opened at the Design Hall of Guangzhou Design Hub, with free admission by appointment for the public. The exhibition area covers over 2,100 square meters, featuring more than 300 architectural models, architectural drawings, and art installations. While focusing on buildings from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), it also includes outstanding works from around the world, covering the entire process from concept to completion, creating a "miniature architectural encyclopedia."

The museum introduces three "firsts": the first to incorporate Lingnan traditional elements into its models, the first to "unfold" and present architectural drawings, and the first to bring a "miniature city" indoors. The inaugural exhibition is organized around six themes, Monument, Oasis, Density, Earth, Link, and South. The Lingnan section displays miniature models of Guangzhou landmarks like Yongqing Fang and Haixin Bridge. Interactive experiences are also available, allowing visitors to build the Canton Tower with blocks in a digital zone.

The museum is housed within the Design Hall, designed by a team led by Academician He Jingtang from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, with He Jingtang and Song Chunhua serving as chairs of the Academic Committee of Architect Model Museum. He Jingtang stated that architectural models can transcend professional barriers, helping the public understand design, while also documenting the era and serving as historical records of urban evolution. Initiator Li Hui mentioned that the museum will host architectural art and cultural design events in the future, fostering interaction in an accessible way.

It is reported that Guangzhou Design Hub has attracted over 300 companies, with an annual output value exceeding 80 billion yuan. In 2025, Guangzhou's Baiyun district was awarded the title of "World Green Design Capital", and this museum will further boost the development of Guangzhou's design industry.

华南首个建筑模型文化空间落地广州

9月12日，华南首个建筑模型公共文化空间在广州设计之都设计殿堂开放，社会公众可免费预约参观。空间展陈面积超2100平方米，展出超300件建筑模型、图纸手稿与艺术装置，以大湾区建筑为主，兼顾全球优秀作品，涵盖从概念到建成的全阶段，打造“可走进的建筑百科全书”。

空间创立三个“第一次”：首次将岭南传统“装进”模型、首次“拆开”呈现建筑图纸、首次把“微都市”搬进室内。首展设“纪念碑、绿洲、密度、大地、连结、岭南”六大主题，岭南展区展出永庆坊、海心桥等广州地标微缩模型，现场还有互动体验，参观者可在数字区用积木搭广州塔。

该空间由何镜堂院士团队设计的设计殿堂承载，何镜堂与宋春华任学术委员会主席。何镜堂表示，建筑模型能跨越专业壁垒，助公众理解设计，还可记录时代，成为城市演进的历史文献。发起人李晖称，空间未来将举办建筑艺术与文化设计活动，以亲民方式互动。

据悉，广州设计之都已吸引超300家企业，年产值破800亿元；2025年白云区获“世界绿色设计之都”称号，该空间进一步助力广州设计产业发展。
