Whether elderly or young, everyone can operate it with ease," said Lai Xin'an, a villager from Laipo Village in Jiangzhuang Township, Xiangcheng County, as he demonstrated the card-swiping irrigation system in a high-standard farmland area on March 24.
As the pace of smart agriculture and agricultural modernization continues to accelerate, irrigation methods for farmland in rural areas are undergoing significant changes. Intelligent irrigation control systems have been installed at pumping wells, adopting a "one household, one card" and "prepaid before use" model. Users can top up in advance, swipe their card to irrigate easily and scientifically, with precise metering and automated billing—making the process simple, efficient, and effective.
It is reported that Xiangcheng County plans to add 50,000 mu of high-standard farmland by 2025, covering six townships including Jiangzhuang and Kuzhuang. In order to fully support the construction of these high-standard farmland projects, State Grid Xuchang Electric Power Company has proactively responded to the new development needs. The company has taken the initiative to connect with local departments such as the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau to understand the geographic distribution and electricity demands of the planned projects. Based on this, the company has developed a scientifically sound power supply plan and identified six supporting electric well projects for implementation. A fast-track “green channel” has been established, providing one-stop services that cover everything from electricity application and on-site inspections to meter installation and power connection.
