Despite global consensus and efforts toward sustainable development goals, multiple complex challenges still hinder their effective implementation.

The first issue is weak policy enforcement. The various policy measures introduced by different countries suffer from weaknesses in enforcement, regulatory mechanisms, and policy coordination, which limit the full effectiveness of these policies.

Second, resource distribution is uneven, especially in areas like infrastructure investment, clean energy adoption, and access to education and healthcare. There remains a significant gap between developing and developed countries.

Third, the benefits of technological innovation have not been fully shared. While technological advancements are accelerating, there is a delay in their global diffusion and application. Some countries and regions struggle to fully capitalize on the benefits of innovation due to a lack of financial resources, technology, and talent.

Lastly, the weak social foundation also poses a challenge, as sustainable development goals have not yet reached a broader audience. Public awareness is limited, and participation is insufficient.

To promote the achievement of sustainable development goals, China has proposed the Global Development Initiative, emphasizing international collaboration and common development. By advocating for innovation, coordination, green, open, and shared development, China provides new perspectives and pathways to address global development challenges.
