On August 30–31, State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company successfully completed the installation of low-voltage intelligent circuit breakers and intelligent monitoring units in Huanxi Village, Jiangnan Town, thereby achieving low-voltage transparency in the village’s distribution station area and comprehensively enhancing the management and service capabilities of the low-voltage distribution network.
It is reported that low-voltage power supply reliability is a comprehensive indicator for measuring power supply quality and the level of power development, directly reflecting the actual power consumption quality and experience of 380/220V low-voltage users. As the only pilot province in China, Zhejiang Province power supply companies will carry out four key tasks: constructing a low-voltage power supply reliability management system, improving technical routes, enhancing data quality, and deepening data application, so as to break through the "last mile" of power supply reliability management.
On the day of the work, although it was already late summer, the outdoor temperature still reached 36℃. Staff from State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company installed intelligent circuit breakers and other equipment at the beginning, sectionalizing points, and tie points of the overhead distribution lines in Huanxi Village, enabling telemetry, remote signaling, and remote control functions. “Although the weather was hot, knowing that villagers can use electricity with greater peace of mind in the future makes everything worthwhile,” said one staff member, wiping away sweat.
At present, State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company has completed the pilot construction of rural low-voltage transparency in three distribution stations in Huanxi Village. In September, the company will deploy more than 200 low-voltage line monitoring units in 23 rural distribution stations, including Xiaopan Village and Huishan Village, to pilot and verify six types of rural transparency models, significantly improving the accuracy of perception regarding power outage events for low-voltage users.
Taking Huanxi Village as an example, by building an intelligent system centered on “full coverage of monitoring units + precise deployment of intelligent circuit breakers,” the system covers a rural area of 12.8 square kilometers, enabling second-level fault location and isolation, as well as one-click self-healing of loads in non-fault areas.
“The transparency technology for overhead distribution stations effectively solves problems under the traditional maintenance model, such as the wide range of power outages and the complexity of power supply assurance operations. By creating a high-reliability rural low-voltage distribution demonstration cluster with three core capabilities—‘automatic topology recognition, intelligent fault self-healing, and proactive outage early warning’—we are providing digital power security to support rural revitalization,” said Pan Yuqin, a staff member of State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company.
From a reliable power supply to a high-quality power supply is the necessary path for Hangzhou to build a model megacity. In the next stage, State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company will continue to deepen the application of transparency scenarios, accelerate the practical and large-scale application of low-voltage reliability system modules, and truly achieve “outage monitoring down to each household, control down to each household,” providing strong protection for reliable electricity use by local residents.(By Li Shenpeng, Wang Xinyue)
