AsianFin – Yu Chengdong, Executive Director of China's tech giant Huawei Technologies and Chairman of Huawei's Intelligent Automotive Solution Business Unit, has dismissed rumors of his dating China’s A-list actress Liu Yifei as "totally false," in response to an inquiry from Jany Hejuan Zhao, the founder and CEO of TMTPost Group.

“I have never met her so far in my entire lifetime,” Yu, also Chairman of the Consumer BG of Huawei, told Zhao on Tuesday via WeChat, China’s equivalent of WhatsApp.

Last Saturday, which was the International Women’s Day in China, Yu posted on Chinese social media platform Weibo a video clip that shows 520 yellow roses in a Huawei Hima R7 vehicle, with a caption: Yellow roses signify freedom and courage. In the Chinese popular culture, 520 means "I love you." Later, Liu, the leading actress in the TV series The Story of a Rose, liked the post and followed the account, which sent the speculation of their love affair going viral.

According to the knowledge of AsianFin, Liu is likely to become the brand ambassador of Hima, which may be the only connection between the two public figures. Liu’s upcoming endorsement of the brand has not been confirmed by Hima though.
