Behind the thriving scene of overseas buyers gathering in Guangdong lies the root of the province's "magnetic effect": this super economic entity, home to 128 million permanent residents and 4.33 million enterprises, is building a unique closed-loop model where industries attract talent, and talent drives industrial development.
According to data from the fifth national economic census, Guangdong ranks first in China for the number of active business entities. state-owned enterprises are capable, private companies are enterprising, and foreign-invested firms are confident in the market. By the end of 2023, the province had 22,100 state-controlled enterprises, up 15.8% from 2018; 4.20 million privately controlled enterprises, up 60.0%, accounting for 97.0% of all corporate entities and generating over 60% of total corporate revenue; and 24,900 foreign-controlled enterprises, a surge of 76.2%-the fastest growth among all ownership types.
Over the past five years, Guangdong has prioritized the real economy and manufacturing, promoted the modernization and digital transformation of its service sector, and deeply integrated the digital and real economies. By 2025, "finding a job in Guangdong" remains a top choice for many young people. Since March, the "Millions of Talents Gather in Guangdong" initiative has been launched with full momentum, offering a stream of policies such as a 300,000 yuan living allowance for PhD holders and a 360,000 yuan resettlement subsidy for postdocs aimed at attracting one million university graduates to work or start businesses in the province.
Guangdong is deploying a combination of policies to create a strong talent magnet.
The transformation of traditional industries is reshaping workforce demands. With intelligent upgrades in manufacturing, a smartphone production line now requires only 20 workers instead of 50, yet demand for multi-skilled technical personnel has doubled. Engineers with both hardware and software expertise have become high-paying and hard-to-find resources for enterprises.
Emerging industries are fueling the growth of high-paying jobs. Sectors such as new energy vehicles, semiconductors, and AI are seeing surging demand. At a recent job fair in the Songshan Lake High-tech Industrial Development Zone, R&D engineers for optoelectronic components were offered monthly salaries as high as 35,000 yuan, with intelligent manufacturing roles making up more than 70% of all job listings.
Flexible employment driven by the gig economy and new business models is becoming increasingly common. Guangdong has set up 400 gig job markets and service stations across the province, offering low-cost entrepreneurship training programs in areas such as livestream selling and coffee brewing, helping 270 individuals launch their own businesses. In Guangzhou alone, there are 600,000 people engaged in new forms of employment. Jobs like food delivery riders and delivery workers have become popular transitional choices for young job seekers.
From the "Millions of Talents Gather in Guangdong" initiative to the launch of the 137th Canton Fair, Guangdong has remained a hotspot for talent and activity for over a month. When enterprises regard talent as their most valuable asset, and policies provide the stage for dreams to take flight, Guangdong is sure to achieve its transformation from a major manufacturing hub into a powerhouse of intelligent manufacturing.

全球客商云集的盛况背后,折射出广东经济“磁场效应”的深层逻辑——这个拥有1.28亿常住人口的“超级经济体”,正以432.69万家企业的庞大生态为基底,构建起“产业聚人、人促产业”的独特闭环。
第五次全国经济普查数据显示,广东全省活跃经营主体稳居全国首位,国企能干、民企敢干、外企敢投。2023年末,全省共有国有控股企业法人单位2.21万个,比2018年末增长15.8%;全省共有私人控股企业法人单位419.54万个,比2018年末增长60.0%,占全省企业法人单位比重97.0%,营业收入占全部企业法人单位比重超六成;2023年末,全省共有外商控股企业法人单位2.49万个,比2018年末增长76.2%,是各种企业控股类型中增速最快的。
五年来,广东坚持实体经济为本、制造业当家,推动服务业现代化数字化转型,促进数字经济和实体经济深度融合。2025年,“找工作到广东”,仍然是许多年轻人的首选。今年3月起,“百万英才汇南粤”行动计划轰轰烈烈地开展中,“博士生活补贴30万”“博士后安家费36万”等政策频频推出,旨在吸纳100万高校毕业生来粤就业创业。
广东,正在以政策组合拳构建人才吸引力“强磁场”。
传统产业转型带来用人需求。制造业智能化升级后,一条手机生产线从50人缩减至20人,但对复合型技术人才需求翻倍。“软硬件兼备”的工程师成为企业高薪招聘的稀缺资源。
新兴产业催生高薪岗位。新能源汽车、半导体、人工智能等领域需求激增。年后的松山湖高新区招聘会上,光器件研发工程师岗位月薪高达3.5万元,智能制造岗位占比超七成。
零工经济和新业态下带来的灵活就业更是比比皆是。当前,广东全省建立起了400个零工市场和服务站点,推出直播带货、咖啡调制等“小成本创业”培训,助力270名学员自主创业。仅广州市便有60万新就业形态劳动者,外卖骑手、网约车司机等岗位成为年轻人“过渡性就业”的热门选择。
从“百万英才汇南粤”到第137届广交会开展,一个多月的时间里,广东人潮就没个“消停”时候。当企业将人才视为“第一资源”,当政策为人才搭建“梦想舞台”,广东定能在这场人才博弈中实现从“制造大省”到“智造强省”的华丽转身。
