In the past, Guangdong has achieved significant success in technological innovation and industrial upgrading. It has ranked first in the country for regional innovation capabilities for eight consecutive years, with many technological indicators leading the nation. Guangzhou Laboratory hasestablished an innovation system, producing numerous important results. The province has developed major innovation platforms, creating a high-level laboratory system and a cluster of major scientific infrastructure, which has enhanced the independent innovation capabilities of tech enterprises.
Projects such as "Guangdong Strong Chip" are advancing, accelerating the autonomy and control of industrial technologies and making breakthroughs in key technologies. The application of industrial software is laying a solid foundation for the digital transformation of industries. The implementation of the "ZhuoYue" program for basic research has led to fruitful results in cutting-edge fields.
Traditional industries have undergone digital "chain transformation" to shift towards intelligent manufacturing, with their experience being promoted nationwide. Emerging industries have achieved remarkable success in fields such as AI and new energy vehicles, with frequent breakthroughs in AI chips, while the new energy vehicle sector has led the nation for seven consecutive years. Efforts to cultivate future industries are also gaining an early advantage, with the biotechnology industry breaking technical monopolies. Shenzhen is taking the lead in synthetic biology, and new energy storage technologies are leading domestically. Guangdong is guiding capital investment into key areas, with the expected credit balance for tech enterprises reaching over 2.7 trillion yuan in 2024.
In the construction of the GBA, Guangdong has improved cooperation mechanisms and promoted the development of collaborative innovation communities. Technology innovation hubs, such as the Guangming Science Cityand Songshan Lake Science City, have been established, with universities from Hong Kong and Macao participating in the construction of joint laboratories and provincial-level new research and development institutions. They also co-host the Greater Bay Area Science Forumto enhance international influence. Guangdong has further deepened international scientific and technological cooperation, implemented over 3,000 international collaboration and talent exchange programs, signed more than 350 cooperation agreements, and attracted over 380 foreign multinational companies to set up research and development centers.
In the future, Guangdong will accelerate the integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, focusing on fields such as quantum technology, brain-machine interfaces, advanced scientific instruments, embodied intelligence, and 6G. 在粤港澳大湾区建设中,广东健全合作机制,推进协同创新共同体建设。光明科学城、松山湖科学城等科技创新载体落地,港澳高校参与联合实验室和省级新型研发机构建设,共同主办大湾区科学论坛,提升国际影响力。广东还深化国际科技合作,实施超3000个国际合作与人才交流项目,签署超350个合作协议,吸引380多家外资跨国公司设研发中心。
